<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Considéré comme cancérigène probable depuis 2015, le glyphosate est un herbicide – principe actif du Roundup de Monsanto – au cœur d’une controverse scientifique durable. De nombreux acteurs – producteurs, utilisateurs de pesticides et leurs alliés – sont attachés à défendre le glyphosate à tout prix et contestent depuis longtemps les études qui alertent sur sa toxicité. Pour ce faire, ils n’hésitent pas à lancer, encourager voire manipuler de véritables polémiques afin de prendre le contrôle sur l’information scientifique. Il s’agit par-là d’influencer les médias, l’opinion publique et les décideurs politiques ou de faire taire les lanceurs d’alertes. Dans cet article, nous revenons sur plus d’une décennie de polémiques qui traduisent bien des guerres <i>par</i>, <i>pour</i> et <i>contre</i> l’information autour du glyphosate. En nous appuyant sur des travaux précédents et des études nouvelles, plusieurs cas feront l’objet d’une analyse spécifique permettant de bien comprendre le contexte agonistique et la nature des stratégies de désinformation, d’influence, de manipulation et de communication sur des sujets sensibles à l’œuvre ici.</span></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Considered a probable carcinogen since 2015, glyphosate is an herbicide – the active ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup – at the heart of a long-lasting scientific controversy. Many players – producers, pesticides’ users, and their allies – are committed to defend glyphosate at all costs and have long challenged studies that alert to its toxicity. To do this, they do not hesitate to launch, encourage or even manipulate real polemics in order to take control over scientific information and thereby influence the media, public opinion and political decision-makers or to silence scientific whistleblowers. In this article we look back on more than a decade of controversies that explain numerous wars <i>by</i>, <i>for</i> and <i>against</i> information around glyphosate. Based on previous works and new studies, several cases will be the subject of a specific analysis allowing a good understanding of the agonistic context and the nature of strategies of disinformation, influence, manipulation and sensitive communication at work here.</span></span></p>
