Se describe la magnitud del fen&oacute;meno del exilio republicano espa&ntilde;ol y su impacto social y cultural en Francia. El texto aborda varios temas.&nbsp;<strong>La Retirada: </strong>En enero y febrero de 1939, aproximadamente medio mill&oacute;n de personas se refugiaron en Francia tras la ca&iacute;da de Catalu&ntilde;a;&nbsp;<strong>Campos de Internamiento: </strong>En marzo de 1939, 264,000 refugiados viv&iacute;an en campos improvisados en las playas del Departamento de los Pirineos Orientales;&nbsp;<strong>Di&aacute;spora Espa&ntilde;ola:</strong> Los exiliados se dispersaron por Francia, M&eacute;xico y otros pa&iacute;ses, con unos 200,000 refugiados estableci&eacute;ndose permanentemente en Francia;&nbsp;<strong>Integraci&oacute;n y Memoria: </strong>El estudio investiga c&oacute;mo los descendientes de los exiliados est&aacute;n recuperando la memoria de sus antepasados mediante las redes sociales, utilizando nuevas tecnolog&iacute;as y enfoques innovadores;&nbsp;<strong>Impacto en Francia y M&eacute;xico:</strong> Se comparan los modelos de integraci&oacute;n en ambos pa&iacute;ses, destacando las dificultades iniciales en Francia y la r&aacute;pida integraci&oacute;n en M&eacute;xico;&nbsp;<strong>Memoria Democr&aacute;tica:</strong> La importancia de la memoria colectiva y democr&aacute;tica, as&iacute; como que las generaciones actuales y futuras deben entender y preservar estos recuerdos;&nbsp;<strong>Nuevas Tecnolog&iacute;as:</strong> El uso de la tecnolog&iacute;a digital y las redes sociales para difundir y analizar la memoria hist&oacute;rica. El texto subraya finalmente la necesidad de un enfoque transnacional y digital para investigar y comprender mejor el legado del exilio republicano espa&ntilde;ol.</p> <p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>The text describes the experience and discoveries of participating in the <em>Week of Democratic Remembrance of Agde</em> in 2019, focused on the 80th Anniversary of the Spanish Political Exile in France. The magnitude of the phenomenon of the Spanish Republican exile and its social and cultural impact in France is described. The text addresses several topics. <strong>The Retreat:</strong> In January and February 1939, approximately half a million people took refuge in France after the fall of Catalonia; I<strong>nternment Camps:</strong> In March 1939, 264,000 refugees were living in makeshift camps on the beaches of the Department of the Pyr&eacute;n&eacute;es-Orientales; <strong>Spanish Diaspora:</strong> Exiles dispersed throughout France, Mexico, and other countries, with some 200,000 refugees settling permanently in France; <strong>Integration and Memory:</strong> The study investigates how the descendants of exiles are recovering the memory of their ancestors through social networks, using new technologies and innovative approaches; <strong>Impact on France and Mexico:</strong> The integration models in both countries are compared, highlighting the initial difficulties in France and the rapid integration in Mexico; <strong>Democratic Memory:</strong> The importance of collective and democratic memory, as well as that current and future generations must understand and preserve these memories; <strong>New Technologies:</strong> The use of digital technology and social networks to disseminate and analyze historical memory.
