<p>Une voix n&rsquo;appara&icirc;t jamais autant dans sa mat&eacute;rialit&eacute; sonore que lorsqu&rsquo;on ne la comprend pas, sans pour autant qu&rsquo;elle soit alors r&eacute;duite &agrave; son &laquo;&nbsp;bruissement&nbsp;&raquo;, &agrave; une pure musicalit&eacute;. Dans la plupart des &eacute;missions journalistiques, une voix &eacute;trang&egrave;re se voit tr&egrave;s vite recouverte de sa doublure sonore, celle qui la traduit : elle reste perceptible en-dessous, mais l&rsquo;oreille ne parvient plus &agrave; l&rsquo;entendre vraiment. Dans les quatre documentaires po&eacute;tiques &eacute;tudi&eacute;s ici, &oelig;uvres d&rsquo;&eacute;crivains-voyageurs et professionnels de la radio prises ici comme jalons dans l&rsquo;histoire de la cr&eacute;ation radiophonique, les voix &eacute;trang&egrave;res se d&eacute;ploient au contraire en de longues s&eacute;quences libres de toute traduction. Ainsi confront&eacute; &agrave; des paroles dont le sens linguistique lui &eacute;chappe, c&rsquo;est &agrave; une autre forme de compr&eacute;hension, plus sensible qu&rsquo;intellectuelle, qu&rsquo;est convi&eacute; l&rsquo;auditeur. Il en va de la relation &agrave; l&rsquo;Autre comme &agrave; Soi-m&ecirc;me, de voyages r&eacute;els aussi bien qu&rsquo;imaginaires et int&eacute;rieurs.</p> <p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>A voice is never more apparent in its sonic materiality than when it is not understood, without being reduced to its &ldquo;rustle&rdquo; or pure musicality. In most journalistic broadcasts, a foreign voice is very quickly covered by its sound double, the one that translates it: it remains perceptible underneath, but the ear can no longer really hear it. In the four poetic documentaries studied here, works by travel writers and radio professionals taken here as milestones in the history of radio creation, the foreign voices unfold instead in long sequences free of any translation. Confronted with words whose linguistic meaning eludes them, listeners are invited to adopt a different form of understanding, one that is more sensitive than intellectual.
